Memory Storage
Memory storage is the ability you have to retain information in your memory. This is done by three different systems sensory, short-term and long-term memory. Each of these ways has a different capacity of time that the information is held and a different capacity of how much information can be held there at once.
Sensory Memory is what you see in that instant. This is very breif and has the smallest capacity. Iconic memory which is the visual part of sensory memory may only last for about a fouth of a second. Ecnoic which is the auditory part of sensory memory lasts from 1-2 seconds!
Short term memory has a limit of about 7 items in it, plus or minus two. This memory may last up to 20 seconds, but short term memory only holds a few things at a time. After 20 seconds these memories may become fuzzy or you could start to remember things that were never really said.
Long Term memory has the largest capacity time and size wise of the three types of memory storage. Long term memory may last up to a lifetime depending on the person. I holds an unlimited amout of items in it's storage and the memories are usually correct if stored here.
